What to Expect at Your Appointment at the Buffalo Niagara Center for Pelvic Health

What to Expect at Your Appointment

If you are a new patient, you can complete the New Patient Questionnaire before arriving for your appointment. Simply click on the appropriate link below and bring your completed form, along with your insurance card and photo I.D.

Once you have checked in, we’ll review your paperwork, and you may be asked to complete some additional questions about your symptoms. Please try to answer as candidly as possible.

The nurse will take your vitals and review your medications and history. If needed, you’ll be asked to provide a urine sample, and the nurse will perform a bladder scan.

When you meet with the physician, she or he will review your paperwork with you, along with any voiding diaries, additional records, and your questionnaires. She or he will then talk with you about the symptoms you’re experiencing and any specific concerns.

After the doctor has a complete picture of your history and symptoms, she or he will perform a comprehensive physical exam, including a pelvic exam and/or rectal exam. This exam takes only a few minutes. Since we are accustomed to caring for patients who have pain and anxiety related to pelvic exams, we know how to perform the exams gently and efficiently.

We can provide the best care for you when you are open and honest about the symptoms and problems you’re experiencing. Our goal is to restore your physical and emotional health, as well as your quality of life.
